Reflection - Image #3
To create this image, I set my camera on a tripod, making sure the distance from me would create a close frame. Since I didn't want the shot to include my hands, I used a remote control to take the pictures from my place in front of the camera. This picture was taken on a Sunday afternoon, tucked into the corner of a refurbished factory building in Providence. My goal was to capture myself in motion, slightly allusive and seemingly unintentional. Initially I was drawn to the red color of the door, however, the aspect I found most interesting upon grayscaling this picture were the lines taped to it. They look like motion lines, tracing the direction of my head. (Like a cartoon where the character is followed by racing lines to give a sense of speed.) I think this successfully depicts the mood and intrigue I sought.
