Reflection - Image #4
This photograph was taken mid-day, when the light streaming through the window was at its most severe. My goal was to capture the sink from an extremely up close and personal perspective, allowing the light to dominate the composition as it hit the sink. The sink itself had a deep curve, which distorted the stream of light, giving a seemingly two-dimensional space movement and depth (with an added interest provided by droplets of water blotting the space). Shadows moved with the light, as well as against it, canvasing the composition with a linear spectrum of grays. To me, the mood lies somewhere between the speed of the light, and the ominous drain hole darkened in the corner. Like a rush of adrenaline that leads a personal blindly towards an unexpected outcome.
